'indexOf()' Syntax, Parameters and Note

Note: This method performs a search for the specified string and  returns the character number in the string at which the  match starts.  If no match is found, it returns -1.      Syntax:      stringName.indexOf(param1, param2) Parameters:     param1   Required; the string to search for.     param2   Optional; the character number in the string at which to start the search.
