Quick Threading Tutorial - C++
Programming
Threading In C++, By Otoom Hello, I will show you how to thread in C++. First you need to create the thread, so if we place this into our editor... Okay, and that is the basic layout. Now we have declared the thread, of course change Threadname to whatever you would like to call it. What we can now do is, call on that thread within the main. So if we add a little bit of code... Okay, so, What have we done here? What we have now done is call upon the thread we declared. Using a handle. But after all this, i bet you think what can threads even do. Okay well. Threads let you run something else while running main. It is like a background running program but within the same application. For example. We can show the lyrics of a song, while making the beeps of it. I hope you get that. So... Now. [code]DWORD WINAPI Beeps (LPVOID lpData) { while(1) { cout<<"\a"; } } int main() { HANDLE Beeps = CreateThread(NULL, 0, Beeps, NULL, 0 View In Full

My own way of making a unique hits counter. Thank you Relish for figuring out why the numbers wouldn't show.

Works solid on Vista x64, and this means it would work on x86 as well.

I will post that in the comments too!

Yeah, I don't think he's into making those avatars anymore... bummer,
really. Sorry if he's not willing to.

Hi - someone else (an online contact of mine) made it for me - his username is
fixer48202, and he can view his contact info here -
http://www.gruntsrus.com/profile.php?lookup=15 . If you do decide to ask him (and he
accepts), tell John sent ya. :)

Indeed. That is the command you commented about previously.

I THINK I get it. Does the 'jl CntLoop' directly relate to the
'cmp' statement?

Hey, you got a new avatar?
It's quite cool... it looks "almost" 3D ;-)

Kind regards,

Thanks for the 253 bytes of delicious words on my Code Pin Board post. Each word I
read was like one short burst of happiness after another, like lines of crack, but in
literary form.

It is a rare person that I come across who doesn't have a list of reasons why
they think that Ruby is the faddiest interpreted language that could ever have so
much undeserved fame, and no real official logo, too. They religiously memorize this
list in their basements while popping deep-fried pineapple slices and writing
replacements for all their friends using whatever language they like which certainly
isn't that crazy Ruby nonsense. They regurgitate this list on command, the
command being, "You know, Ruby is a nice language to learn and you could really
do some fairly useful and rather kinky things using Ruby."

Anybody that I meet who likes Ruby gets upgraded to the limited edition sparkly
gold one in the box of crayons (with crayon sharpener) that is my collection of
friends. The people who hate Ruby for definite, specific, justified reasons get to be
sparkly silver. /b/tards who tell me "rUbee iz dum!1!1!!!11!!?!1" get
broken in two or three pieces, dullened, and stripped of their label (not that the
nondescript name of the color on there tells you anything about what color it's
SUPPOSED to be, really), but still make their way into the box. I have no enemies.

You, however, not only have nice, specific reasons why you actually like Ruby, you
are also a freemason of words and have an elegant and easy to remember username (it
has three reoccurring letters, out of five total!). You, sir, are scented cherry!
