Your computer is up to date when you've installed the latest updates for Windows and for your computer programs. If you're already using Microsoft Update, which works with Windows automatic updating, Windows Update in the Control Panel will automatically open and display your update status.

Isn't this a basic functionality of windows?
I have been trying to download service pack 3 for my window xp home edition and cannot complete the install. Is there any help out there?
I found these instructions were not straightforward to understand.
I have had my system in the shop.. they fixed it to the point that Microsoft won't even recognize the files that tells it that I am "Authentic" .. I cannot update at all.. even my Word2002 keeps asking me and I cannot..
What gives?
