Not recommended.
Updates regularly stop applications I use every day working - such as Camtasia studio screen recorder and even Windows Media Player.
There's nothing worse than wanting to start a days work to find that Windows has installed something that prevents an essential program from working - and having to spend time leading a previous restor point.
Avoid automatic updates at all costs!
my update turns it's self off then when i turn it back on it will not update
Is there an offline version of this tool that can be downloaded and carried to a computer that can't get internet access at the moment? I'm having problems that should have no relation to my isp disconnect, but for many others that may be part of the mix.
I have had Microsoft security for several years now and would recomend everybody use their free security essentials it leaves the others for dead, it has in the past warned me of incoming problems and sorted them out for me, the term use it or loose it comes to mind,I have tried the other companies software and it does not match up to microsoft, Keep up the good work, I would prefer to wait a few more seconds when I start up than wast hours getting my computer running again due to a virus.and that does not take into account the lost data.
why would i want this troubleshooter to turn on my windows firewall? i have it turned off becasue i use the avg firewall. wouldn't it be better to have it check that a firewall is being used?
Now when I try to run some exe files I get "Data of this type is not supported". ie Saitek driver exe file.
User Account -Locked out
System Restore - won't start.
Tried to run the MS Fixit - Data of this type not supported
In short, plain garbage so time for a complete re-build.
