How can I download eBooks?
Once you complete your eBook purchase, the download link for your eBook will be available in your Packt account. You can access your eBook by following the steps below:
- Login to your account at PacktPub.com using your registered email id and the password for it.
- Click on "My Account" tab.
- Then click on "My Downloads" section
- You will see the name of the book that you have purchased. You can click the link and your ebook will be downloaded.
You can also right click on the file name link and save it to your hard drive before opening it. The eBook should save in the background. Remember that you can download your eBook as many times as you like.
How can I download code files?
The code files for our books are available under the Support section of our website. To access these files, follow the steps below if you are not logged on:
- Visit www.PacktPub.com/support
- Now select the name of the book for which you want the codes from using the dropdown box and click ‘go’.
- Enter your email address in the form and click ‘Download’.
A direct link to download the code files will be emailed to you at that email id. Sometimes, these emails may get blocked by certain Spam filters. If you don’t receive an e-mail within one hour of clicking download, please check your Spam folder before contacting us.
Alternatively, if you are logged on you can use the following steps to download the code:
- Visit www.PacktPub.com/support
- Now select the name of the book for which you want the codes from using the dropdown box and click ‘go’.
- Under "Downloads" section, you can find a direct link to the code files. You can click on the link and download the code files.
Downloading sample chapters
You can access the sample chapters for our books by clicking the link to download the sample chapters which are available on the book details page of every book.
Payment methods
You can pay for your purchase from PacktPub.com with a VISA, MasterCard or Amex. Payments are also accepted via PayPal. UK customers can also pay using a Maestro debit card.
Placing an order
To place an order with us you will be first required to create an account at PacktPub.com with your complete billing and shipping details. You can do this by visiting this link:
www.PacktPub.com/login
You can then place an order for an eBook or print book by simply visiting the page of the book you wish to buy and clicking the ‘Add to Cart’ button for the book or the eBook and then proceed to checkout.
How do pre-orders work?
You can place an order for a Book/ eBook with us even before it is released/ published. Your pre-ordered print book will be printed and shipped out to you only when it is published. If you have preordered an eBook the download link for the eBook will be available in your Packt account immediately once the book is published.
Your credit card will be charged for the pre-order only when the book is released.
You can cancel any pre-orders up to 48 hours before the title is released by logging into your account and cancelling the order using the links provided.
Using a promotional code
To use your promotion code you will be required to follow the steps below:
- Add the item you wish to buy to your cart.
- Now enter the given ‘promotion code’ in the field for the promotion code and click ‘Update’.
- You will now be able to buy the required item at the discount promised by the promotional offer
You will receive a message ‘Thank you, your discount has been applied’ confirming that you have applied the discount to your purchase.
Cancelling or modifying orders
You can cancel a pre-order directly from your account 2 days (48 hours) prior to its release date. Orders other than pre-orders cannot be cancelled if they are in the printing or shipping stages. Orders for eBooks cannot be cancelled as Packt eBooks are non-returnable and non-refundable. If you need to modify an order, for example adding an eBook or upgrading your order to a bundle offer, you will be required to contact us at [email protected]
Shipping carriers
All orders to the United States are shipped out using UPS delivery services.
Shipments to the United Kingdom and the rest of the world are shipped via Royal Mail. Orders consisting of five or more books are dispatched by DHL, and we will email you a tracking number which you can use to track your order at www.DHL.com
Books shipped out from our printing centers in India and Singapore are delivered by courier.
Tracking information
Once you place an order with us your book is printed and shipped out from our printing centers located in the UK, US, Singapore and India. In the US books are shipped out via UPS ground service and are traceable. Shipments to the rest of the world are shipped by Royal mail ordinary post and cannot be traced.
Orders consisting of five or more books are dispatched by a premium service and can be tracked.
Shipments to Asian countries are dispatched by courier and cannot be tracked. If shipped by a traceable service we will email you your shipment tracking number when your order is shipped out.
Delivery time
We are a Print-on-Demand company and hence we do not keep stocks of our books. Your book (s) will be printed once we receive your order and then shipped out to you from our printing centers in the US, UK, Singapore and India.
The service and location we use depends on where you are.
In the US your shipment should arrive within 7-10 working days depending on your location.
For shipments to Canada the delivery time is 12 to15 days depending on your location.
Shipments within the United Kingdom are delivered within 2 to 5 days and 6 to 10 days for deliveries to European countries.
Books to Australia and New Zealand should reach you within 6 to 10 days. Shipping time to Asian countries is 12 to 15 days. Deliveries to India take about 25 days to reach you.
eBooks are available to download immediately, from your account.
Shipping costs
You are not charged shipping fees for deliveries to the UK, USA, Europe and selected Asian countries which includes Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Macau, Taiwan, and China.
For shipments to Canada shipping charge is GBP 8.00 per item. We charge GBP 7.00 as freight cost per item for shipping books to Australia and New Zealand.
For countries not included in the above list we charge GBP 5.00 per item freight.
Shipping cost to India is 75 Indian Rupees per book. For certain books, we print and ship from the UK, which incurs an extra shipping charge of 550 Indian Rupees per book
View and submit errata
You can view and also submit errata for any of our titles by following the steps below:
- Visit www.PacktPub.com/support
- Select the book you would like to view or submit errata from using the dropdown box and then click ‘go’.
- Under the ‘errata’ s you can click the links given to view errata submitted or to submit one of your own.
Our editors will check submissions and post them to the list
Tax information
No tax is charged on the purchase of any print book. A VAT fee of 20% is charged only to our European customers on the eBooks that they buy. Customers who do not reside in the European Union are not charged any VAT on their eBooks.

eBook license agreement
Packt eBooks are licensed to be used only by the buyer of the eBook. You may make copies of your eBook for your own use onto any machine. You may not pass copies of the eBook on to anyone else. In case you intend to buy eBooks for your colleagues, you will be required to place an eBook order for each person.
eBook format
Packt commits to releasing ePub, Mobi and PDF formats for all books we publish, although the precise format release of these may vary from book-to-book. However, we do aim to have all formats available within seven days of the book being released. If there is a particular title that you are using which isn’t yet available in one of the formats listed, please let us know at: [email protected].
