I have 2 TMG servers with 2 network adapters. I followed next article to deploy Standalone array:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd440981.aspx

After these task I have this error in Monitoring -> Configuration (Array Manager console) on the Array Managed server:

"Forefront TMG management cannot establish a connection with the Forefront TMG computer"

If I go to the Array Managed server console it is ok.

I have both servers added to "Managed Server Computers" and "Enterprise Remote Management Computers".

I need help to fix this issue.

    I see this post:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/Forefrontedgegeneral/thread/80f2a2f5-0b7e-4fc0-833f-a2e0e6651da5

But Do I need the cert if the server are domain members?

Also intra-array network adapter are required or recommended?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

“But Do I need the cert if the server are domain members?” - Server authentication certificate is used for communication between the configuration storage server and the Forefront TMG servers in a workgroup deployment. For more information, see Planning for server certificates.

“Also intra-array network adapter are required or recommended?” - intra-array (IA) NICs are not always required, but if the environment design dictates that they should be used. Because NLB stopped requiring a heartbeat NIC as of WS03 SP1, the decision to use an IA NIC boils down to two questions:

    1. will you depend on server-side CARP (disabled by default)?

    2. will the traffic on the ISA-protected NICs exceed 50% of the NIC capacity (500Mb of a 1Gb connection)?

If you answer "yes" to both, use an IA NIC.

    Thanks Nick!

I think I will deploy a IA NIC.

But my issue now I that I receive this error on the Array Manager:

Forefront TMG management cannot establish a connection with the Forefront TMG computer

    Any suggestion to fix it?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

“Forefront TMG management cannot establish a connection with the Forefront TMG computer”- Do you have configured an array manager firewall policy? If not please refer to this link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd440981.aspx
