  1. I wish to select the feature article BEFORE the paper publishes.

Reason for request: the feature article which goes out in the subscriber email notification is the one that determines how many subscribers click through to read the paper.

A dull feature article draws less click throughs from the email notification.

Possible solution: a double tweet of an article gives it a higher value and loads it as the feature article. That should actually be an easy code to write.

So procedure would be: I tweet my tweets and then before my daily publish time I review my tweets and tweet again the article I wish to make my feature article.

There are other possible solutions, but I think this should be the easiest and most efficient way.

  2. Hi Rick,

The preview feature is on it's way and we understand the value that feature article holds. We are looking forward to bringing it to the community.

  5. Hi Kelly, thanks so much for this. These changes are really impressive. I haven't tried adding keywords from Facebook yet, but I'll give it a try soon. Do you have any examples of what a Paper.li with a custom background looks like?

  7. Can you do a blog post on how to interpret a "News Spotter Profile" as I don't even know what a "news spotter" is?

    Great list of new features.

  8. Hello,

I would like to exclude some terms in my newspaper.

I use the "Keyword in twitter" filter and entered the filter

"-aaaaa and -bbbbb and -ccccc and -dddd" and I still find some content in the newspaper that include of of these aaaaa, bbbbb etc.

    Where am I wrong?
    Thanks for help.

  9. Walter - news spotters are the individuals who are finding, and then tweeting, the sources of content ( articles, images, videos..)

  11. Please, reposite the lang-select-bar back to top of #paperly! It's so difficult to twice-scroll page and wait for loading, if language detection mistake happened :(( More difficult for mobile platform..

  12. One feature that I'd like to see is the ability to "keep" the prior days edition in a blog post. For example, if I create a paper and I post it to 5 posts I'd prefer that the 5 be different in all 5 posts. That would of course mean that the other 4 remain static as of the date they were published. As an alternative, allow them to be printed to a PDF file or something similar so they can be archived by day ;)

  15. How many papers can we create? Is the limit 5 or 10 per Twitter account?

  16. HI Dwayne, 10's the limit for the time being. You guys are turning into power publishers. Love it!

  18. Would you consider a feature that would make it easier to post the "my paper is out for day x" feature to a blog? Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Alice - I am going to add that to our Requested Features list.

We do have a widget that you can embed for your Paper.li on on your blog, if that helps. The code can be found on the front page of your paper.
