jquery mobile trigger create method

I was wondering how to write the .trigger("create") mehtod

I saw this on jquery mobile docs

code -$( ...new markup that contains widgets... ).appendTo( ".ui-page" ).trigger( "create" );

but due to my less knowledge I do not know what should I put

$( ...new markup that contains widgets... ).appendTo this part . and following code is what I tryied

$(".ui-responsive").trigger("create"); 

I want ot know what should I put in to $ ().appendTo part . Is it the table ID or what ?
