are the video tutorials for javascript by lynda.com enough.?

No, they're probably not enough. You need to practice as well. I've heard good things about thinkvitamin.

Or just go out and buy a book.

I would advise you start off with JavaScript - The Good Parts then maybe attempt to pick up a framework, jQuery perhaps.

And rememebr that Google and StackOverflow are you friends when it comes to technical questions.
