I need to host some code temporarily for a very short time. For this reason I'd rather not have to pay for the hosting. Can you recommend any (free) hosting that I can use temporarily? I'm not bothered about forced advertising etc as this is only for a short demonstration.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated, but I'll need ASP.NET 3.5 and MS SQL 2008.

I don't know of any free services, but have you considered running something on your own machine (possibly a VM if you worry about security), and opening up the port on your router to point to that? This way you have it controlled and you get it set up properly for your project. – TZHX Jan 26 '11 at 9:50
alternatively, Visual Studio can run a "demo" web server which is able to interact normally with SQL, etc. for something that is a single demo / proof of concept this is probably easier. – TZHX Jan 26 '11 at 9:51

Go use AppHarbor.com. Its a free (for now) .Net Cloud Hosting service.

I agree with NTulip about AppHArbor.com. very cool model. their Pricing Page gives details about how they plan on charging. they are currently free...
