Microsoft Research recently released two excellent new apps for testing and tracking the speed of your internet connections. Network Speed Test is available for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, and the design of the free apps is simple and easy to understand as the name. Fire up either app and hit “Start” and a speedometer-like gauge lights up, testing your upload speed, download speed and network delay. The apps also serve up handy information like which activities your current connection can handle, and saves a history of your tests so you can compare speeds over time.
There’s more information about the apps on the Microsoft Research site, and both the Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 versions are now available for download.
Windows Phone is just good and simple.But its time to re-modify its UI.I had some ideas about app development for WP.So i really tried working hard to download SDK.But ,unfortunately i didn't get even if the content was there on the internet for free of charge.So i just dropped all my software development study's and now simply doing silly with my Windows 8 Pro.If MS send me as parcel, it would be nice to have and i will become a part of WP family as i wish.

Are you planning to develep same app for Android or IOS?
It would be easier to access the app if you gave us a direct link to it. Or made it clear where that link is. I don't care to read everything, I rather just try it. This seems to be a trend at Microsoft. They post something on facebook, to a link, that just describes what I read on facebook.

@ Brent...what are you talking about? First, it's "couldn't care less." Second, what is "a normal Windows app"?
@ Theapow, developed by MS Research, doubt it'll go to iOS or Android. There's really nothing to gain, it's free, so there's no revenue, and there are plenty of apps in those two marketplaces that test network speed already.
Exactly how do I download it without downloading your "next" app that as I have seen a few postings it isn't exactly an information filled app..maybe someday.. but until then.. how do we "JUST" download the Speed app... what we can't.. maybe because you want us to see a few ads along the way.. so. once again.. are you thinking about the consumer>>> not much just your pocketbooks..nothing wrong with capitalism.. not at all just to come on facebook and entice us with something we can use and not give us a way to "just get that">.. tsk tsk tsk.
OOOOOPs.. in the last line.. There's more information about the app on the Microsoft Research site... etc etc. etc.. that is where you can go and down load the app without using the Microsoft Next app.
