For IT decision makers with the most demanding Data Warehouses SQL Server 2008 R2 Parallel Data Warehouse offers massive scalability to hundreds of terabytes and high performance through a massively parallel processing (MPP) architecture. Unlike the competition, it offers flexibility and choice with appliances planned from HP and Bull. With Parallel Data Warehouse, Microsoft provides a comprehensive Data Warehouse platform through integration with SQL Server BI tools such as Reporting Services, Analysis Services, Integration Services and PowerPivot.

Parallel Data Warehouse will be sold be per rack. Each rack has up to 11 licensed servers with 22 Processors. The customer will be required to buy licenses for all 22 Processors per rack. In the near future half rack options will be available for Parallel Data Warehouse with up to 5 servers and 10 Processors.
