Photo Gallery tools help you organize and edit your photos, then share them online. Here's what you can do.
Capture an entire mountain range in a single photo—select the photos you want to use and Photo Gallery stitches them into a panorama for you.
Did someone blink when the flash went off? Choose everyone’s best pose from several different shots, and Photo Fuse will merge them together into the perfect group photo.
Show off your road trip or birthday party photos with a slide show that looks polished and professional. Choose your favorite theme and Photo Gallery puts it all together for you.
Import your photos into Photo Gallery from your camera or mobile phone so you can edit, organize and share them.
To get started, connect a camera or mobile phone to your computer and turn it on. Open Photo Gallery and on the Home tab, click Import.
Choose a camera or device from the list, and then click Import. Click Review, organize, and group items to import or Import all new items now. Then click Next.
Choose the groups of photos and videos you want to import, and if you'd like, you can add names and tags to your files. When you're done, click Import.
Photo Gallery makes it easy to organize your photos, edit them so they look their best, and share them online. Now Photo Gallery supports many RAW formats so you can import and work with these files directly from your camera.
Photo Gallery has tools to locate and organize the photos and videos by the information your camera adds—like the date a photo was taken—or by information you add—like tags, captions, and other information.
To search your photos and videos, select the folders you'd like to search from the navigation pane and then, on the Find tab, choose the information you want to search for.
Photo Gallery has editing tools to improve the appearance of your photos by changing their alignment, exposure, color settings, and more. With Photo Gallery, you can remove red eye, retouch photos, and even add creative color and tonal effects to photos.
You can also automatically edit a batch of photos. Select the photos you want to edit, and then, on the Edit tab, select the adjustments you want to make from the Quick adjustments group.
You can upload photos and videos to your favorite social networking sites like Facebook or YouTube. Select the photos and videos you want to upload. On the Home tab, in the Share group, select a publishing destination, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
To add another publishing destination to the Share gallery, click Add a plug-in, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
With Photo Gallery, a photo isn't limited to what you can squeeze into one frame. Now you can stitch several photos together to create a panorama. This is a great way to capture photos of landscapes and other subjects that are too large for a single photo.
To create a panorama, take a series of photos from a single vantage point so that each photo overlaps the one preceding it and import them into Photo Gallery.
Once imported, select the photos you're going to use and on the Create tab, click Panorama. Photo Gallery will align the photos and combine them into a new composition. To crop a finished panorama, on the Edit tab, in the Adjustments group, click Crop.
Use Photo Fuse in Photo Gallery to combine the best parts of two or more photos into one. This feature is useful in improving photos, like group portraits, where a person might look better in one photo than in another.
To create a Photo Fuse, start with a set of photos taken from the same scene and vantage point.
Select the photos you want to fuse. On the Create tab, in the Tools group, click Photo Fuse.
Click the area of the photo you want to replace. Drag one of the points to adjust the size of this area. Click the replacement photo that you like best, and then click Save.
Add themes to your slide shows in Windows Live Photo Gallery to give them a unique look and feel.
Select the photos you'd like to use in your slide show from the gallery. On the Home tab, click Slide show and then select a theme.
