Host Requirements

The host is any x86 personal computer running Linux and the Java SE Developer's Kit (JDK) version 1.7 (any update). You can download the JDK (and optionally the NetBeans IDE) here.

To build the sample applications described in the Application Developer’s Guide (HTML) (PDF), or your own application that is based on a sample, you need the following:

• Ant 1.8 (or newer), available from http://ant.apache.org/bindownload.cgi.
• NetBeans 7.1 (or newer), if you want to use an interactive development environment. NetBeans is available from: http://netbeans.org/downloads/index.html. 

You must have a way to transfer files from the host to the target, such as a network connection or memory card.

Target Requirements

This release supports ARM- and x86-based target devices running a Linux operating system.

ARM Target Requirements

The following table specifies the requirements for ARM target devices. The software is compiled for compatibility with ARM V6 and V7, and does not exploit the potential performance advantages of V7.
