About Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) is a business intelligent tool that is part of the Microsoft SQL Server database management system. SSAS originally debuted in 2000, having been built on Microsoft's OLAP Services architecture first seen with SQL Server 7. Since then, Microsoft has continued to expand on the OLAP and data mining capabilities of SQL Server Analysis Services in the 2005, 2008 and 2008 R2 releases of SQL Server. Our SQL Server Analysis Services topic page features tutorials, news and videos for learning the ins and outs of SASS management. Here you'll find tips and how-tos on working with SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services – the most widely used version of SASS – to go along with security, performance and general management resources for the most recent releases.
