Named anchors in tutorials
Used named anchors in the tutorials so we can cite specific sections of long tutorials when answering questions in the user forums.
14 votesThis is a great suggestion. We will update our user education guidance documentation on how to author content for the site.

Simplify the homepage.
I believe that the homepage can be much simpler than this. Other than the ads that is already mentioned, some other items can be removed to make it more precise. I don't know if there is any statistics on the highest interests for the visitors on the site, but it's good to stick to them. I don't think the latest announcements and blog posts are the top interests for all visitors.

Host the site on Windows Azure
At the bottom of the website I see this:
This site is hosted for Microsoft by Neudesic, LLC.
Why don't you prove how easy and cheap Windows Azure is and host the site yourselves on Azure instead of having to pay Neudesic?
9 votesNeudesic is the company that manages and maintains the www.asp.net site and will appear there no matter where it is hosted. We are in the process of moving the site to Azure right now.

Better searching of code samples, VB vs C# in the Forums for example.
It would nice to have the option to exclude solutions or searches based on code base.

create a section with full website development lifecycle
I would say, there should be a section, where people should go and learn how to build a complete website from start to end.

Better point scoring
Points might be provided on the quality or completeness of providing a full solution. Like if the problem was posted requesting help in VB, a C# solution wont get points. Like wise a link to an off site web page would not get as high of points.

We are reviewing our point scoring system for a potential future site update.

A better slogan for homepage
I'd say "Web Development with Power, Productivity & Speed" is a long one. If there is a marketing team at Microsoft that has proposed this, then that's fine, otherwise, I'd suggest to have a shorter slogan, but don't ask me what 'cause I'm not good at it ;-)

MVC 2/3 as complete NuGet package
I can't seem to find a complete MVC 2/3 NuGet package and at the moment creating a VS2010 MVC project fetches assemblies local to the developer machine. This makes it difficult to move the solution to a build server without installing VS, which seems a bad idea.
