Last month, we completely revamped the editing process for publishers, giving you the ability to reposition articles using drag and drop, move articles on the paper from one section to another, and delete multiple articles or blacklist with less mouse clicks than before.
To round out these changes and to put into your hands even more control over organizing your published content, we introduce to you our new, improved bookmarklet!
When we detect an article, our semantic analysis assigns a topic but if you don't agree, use the new drop down topic field shown below to reassign the article to another topic and then add the article to your paper directly to the topic section you choose.
Less hassle for you, more control over your content.
Ta da!
Note: if you have already installed the bookmarklet, you should already see the change. There is no need to re-install.
The option to reassign an article to a topic only applies to articles, thus the topic field does not appear if RSS, video or photos only are selected.
If you have not yet installed the bookmarklet or are not yet familiar with how to use it:

Editing your content has never been easier! We've completely revamped the desktop process to curate the current edition of your paper, making it easier to quickly delete, blacklist (a news spotter or site), reposition articles, and reassign the articles to another section.
On your marks, get set....Enter Edit Mode!
To begin, be sure you are signed into your paper in order to see the edit bar below. Then, to view all editing icons described in this article, click on "edit" from the edit bar.
Once in edit mode, the bar turns red, and you will notice new editing icons.
New! Delete content with one click!
Deleting and blacklisting have never been easier! We've simplified the process by adding
deletion and blacklisting icons found on the top right of articles, videos and photos. To view these editing icons , be sure to be in "edit mode".
Delete article for that edition only! Zap it with the x!
Blacklist the news spotter who shared the news! Blacklisting the news spotter will prevent us from fetching any further content from that user for the current and future editions of your paper.
Blacklist the news source itself! Blacklisting the news source itself will block a URL from appearing on current and future editions of your paper. This button is not found for videos.
Reposition your content
Once in "Edit mode", you have two easy ways to reposition content on your Paper.li:
* New! Drag and Drop
Whenever you see the drag-and-drop icon in the top left corner of an article, you can drag the article to another position, either within that section or to another section (if on the front page). To drag an article, video or photo into another position, move your pointer to the drag and drop icon, and click and drag the article, video or photo to the desired position.
Front page view
You can drag and drop articles to reposition them within topics or the headline section and you can even move an article from one topic section to another on the front page.
However, videos and photos may not be moved outside of their sections. For example, it is not possible to move a video to the photos or to a topic section. It is also not possible to move an article to a trending hashtag section, since trending hashtags represent a calculated result.
Topic view
If you are viewing the articles from a topic view, you may reposition the articles withinthat topic by dragging and dropping them to their desired position. (You may also reassign the article to a new topic using the drop down menu for the topic. See below.)
If topic article(s) are shown in your headlines on the home page, they will be in the top positions in your topic view. These headline articles can not be re-positioned. Headline re-positioning must be done on the home page.
All Articles view
If viewing your articles from the All articles view, you can also move your articles around and prioritize them as you wish (or reassign them to a new topic section using the drop down menu for the topic. See below.)
Note that the drag-and-drop icon will not appear on any headline articles. These articles may not be repositioned from the All articles view.
* Promote (and demote) to/from Headlines
Articles (videos and photos may not be moved to the Headlines section) have an up and/ordown arrow
, depending on their position. The arrows can be used to quickly move an article you find to-and-from the Headline section of your paper.
Using the up arrow moves the article to the Featured Article (first article) within the Headline section. Once the article has been promoted to the Featured Article, you can use the drag and drop method to reposition the articles as you wish within the headline section.
Using the down arrow removes the article from the headline section and places it back in the topic section from where it came.
Topic and All articles view
The up arrow will be found on any article (except for articles already in the headline section). You won't see the down
arrow if viewing articles on the topic view or All articles view because you can only remove an article from the headline section while viewing the front page.
New! Reassign articles to another topic
When viewing articles from the All articles view or topic view, you may reassign articles to another existing topic in your paper using the drop down arrow.
All done? Don't forget to exit edit mode by clicking on "done editing" on the edit bar.
Oops! Have you accidentally blacklisted someone or a site -or- maybe you have changed your mind? You can lift the block at any time by deleting the blacklisted person or site from your blacklist list found in your paper settings.

We really enjoy hearing from our community and always look forward to reading your comments.

Tips on making a comment or asking for help
New to commenting or not sure how to most effectively make your point? Here are a few tips to help you out when commenting on an article, reporting an issue and leaving comments in general.
1. Be specific
Let us know why you are contacting us or what compelled you to comment
Technical issues: To quote publisher Mike Lazarus "Taking your car to the garage and saying it doesn't work isn't really helpful." Be specific!
2. Stay on topic
Regardless if you are browsing articles, posts, or FB entries, it is always good practice to keep questions and conversations organized. If you see a post about content streams and you have a question about customization, start a new request or take a look to see if you can jump in on a conversation that is already taking place. It becomes confusing for everyone to jump from topic to topic. And it makes it easier to find you and make sure your comments, questions and requests are promptly answered.
3. Be Nice
Nobody is perfect and we can all have "one of those " days. Even so, it is never appropriate to use insults or offensive language in the Paper.li community.
Even when you don't agree with publishing peers' opinions, a new feature that we've rolled out, support response times, blog posts or the way the wind is blowing today... disrespectful comments won't improve the situation.
Praise, kudos, comments -- they are all welcome, and criticism is too, as long as it is constructive. Please note: Rude, incendiary comments in the forum, as comments on a blog, on FB or Twitter that do not lend to fruitful conversation will be removed, disregarded or simply ignored.
