SlideShare presentations, documents and videos can be embedded in Wordpress blogs by following the steps below:
Embedding SlideShare in Wordpress.org (self-hosted blogs)
Embedding SlideShare in Wordpress.com (blogs hosted by Wordpress on their servers)
If you are not certain whether you have a Wordpress.com or Wordpress.org blog, read this article.
For advanced users: If you are an advanced Wordpress user, or a developer, then you can try out two other options:
Embed: If you have a Wordpress.org (self-hosted) blog, you can install the SlideShare embed plugin and directly use the SlideShare presentation URL to embed in your blog. Learn more here.
If you wish to use the Wordpress.com short code for embedding in your Wordpress.org blog, use this plugin (it is not created by SlideShare, but by an external developer, Joost de Valk).
Comments
I tried the shortcode in my wordpress.com blog, and the player is indeed embedded, but then says:
"Oops, this slide did not convert properly hence cannot be displayed."
I don't know where the problem is: The video is visible in Slideshare, and if embedded from YouTube it shows up in the blog too .
Any ideas?
Hi,
Video embeds in Wordpress.com will not work at present. This is a known issue. We are working to resolve this.
This was not mentioned earlier in the FAQ... now it has been updated.
Thx for quick response! Is this a matter of weeks or months?
Hopefully weeks. This has to be done by Wordpress (since they completely control wordpress.com), not SlideShare. We will reach out to them.
Hello Amit,
Any progress with this issue?
Thanks
Hi - I have a wordpress.com blog and I´m trying to embed a slide show to present a homepage for my client - I´m doing volontary data work for my political party. I get the slide show embedded, thats no problem, but it´s too large. Even if i press different option sizes the code for wordpress.com doesn´t change as the wordpress.org and old embed link do. If I tyr to embed them there is no slide show only letters and a link to the slide show.
I urgently need help - my client is waiting.
Many thanks, Helena in Sweden.
I uploaded a ppt presentation to SlideShare and used the WP embed code and put it in the html editor. It's still showing up in the html editor after I update the page, but the page itself is totally blank. Any ideas?
Thanks!
abigail
@helena @abigail sounds to me that you have the same problem as me: embedding slideshare in wordpress.com (hosted) obviously doesn't work yet. you see a placeholder, but no slideshow. see amit's comments above.
@MicrolearningOrg - I thought that was only a problem with videos.
@brownmackielibrary oh, sorry. you are right, of course. it's only a problem with videos. (slides work fine for me.)
Slides are not working in my Wordpress's blog... :(
Thank you for your article Amit and for your responce! http://www.signalsforex.org/
