Yasemin Denari's photoYasemin is an Alum of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Just like everyone included in today’s post, Yasemin uses her about.me link as part of her twitter bio. This allows all the people who see her tweets to easily learn about her background and interests!

Take a look at other great examples below. Click on each image to see their full page, and remember to leave a compliment when you do!

Students of the Week

This week’s students have pages that really make them shine. From their stunning photos to their bios, their presentation shows off just how well rounded they are. They show they’re not just students but also singers, storywriters, and student senators like Alberto Abreu da Silva, in our header photo.

So check out all their pages and think of what you could add to yours to give the fullest representation of who you are as a scholar and a person. This will make you stand out not just to recruiters but others in about.me community who connect with your interests and personality.

Hey Instagram Photographer! Who Are You?

Instagram is an amazing way to share everyday & extraordinary photos, as well as see the world through someone else’s lens. But have you ever wanted to know more about the photographer, only to find their Instagram profile empty?

Looking for information about Instagram photographers can be frustrating. You can’t fit a lot of info in an Instagram bio, and many people don’t bother including much at all. Your photos tell a story about where you go and who you are, but it’s not the complete story. There’s opportunity for much more!

Luis Rodríguez

Your Story, Unabridged Edition.

Additional info in your Instagram profile paints a more complete picture for your followers. When you add your about.me link, you make it easy for your Instagram followers to not only learn about you, but also find and follow you on Twitter or the other social services you use. Your about.me page is the hub, the best single page to link your services together.

Herbert Schröer

Your Online Life Is Multifaceted.

There are great reasons to use different social services, each connects you in a special way to a unique audience. Linking to your about.me page from Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and other sites helps create a cohesive picture of who you are online.

If you haven’t yet, add your about.me link to your other services around the web. When people visit your page, they’ll get a better understanding of who you really are on your own terms.

Veterinarians on about.me

These days pets are very well beloved and often considered a part of the family.  We even have pets as members of the about.me community, thanks to their owners creating a page for them! So now lets meet some veterinarians who take care of our pets when they’re most in need, ensuring they are there to greet us when we Corey Hill come home everyday.

Dr. Corey Hill (our header photo) has always had a great passion for animals and now that she’s a veterinarian she loves helping their owners too. Her inspiration is her dog Bear (above) who gets around in his wheel chair since losing use of his back legs.

Students of the Week

A page on about.me can help students in a variety of ways, from networking with professionals to simply meeting others at their school. It can also be helpful in showing off their diverse interests outside of school.

For example, Priya Prakash, in our header photo, lets others know that she’s not just into biology but has a passion for photography as well. Aboubacar Camera, on the other hand demonstrates he’s not just a student but also an entrepreneur.

A Great Biography

There are many ways to present yourself with about.me and it all starts with a photo and great biography. Your biography is what makes your photo come to life and is your opportunity to tell people a bit about yourself.  There’s no need to write a novel, when it comes to writing your biography, less is more. The optimal length is between 4-6 sentences. A shorter biography also ensures that you cover less of your photo as David Pott carefully does in the header image. Don’t forget to see and read his profile here.

Aela Callan

What makes Aela’s biography so good? Let’s go into some of the details:

“I’m a broadcast journalist and documentary maker with extensive experience in Asia, especially Myanmar. I’m currently a 2014 John S. Knight fellow at Stanford University, developing innovative ways to help press freedom and reduce hate speech in Myanmar, where I’ve been reporting since 2009. My films and stories appear on Al Jazeera English news and the 101 East program.”

First, she keeps it short and sweet. Second, and very importantly, Aela also tells a short story of where she’s been and where she’s going.  Finally, she takes the time to let readers know where they can see more of her work.

Phil Echols

Now let’s delve into Phil’s biography:

“School Counselor for Wake County Public Schools and owner of Become Better, LLC. Become Better offers thought-provoking presentations and inspirational apparel. Through the services of Become Better, LLC, I inspire individuals to become better versions of themselves. (Client List)

Let’s connect and help the world become better together.

Vlog Episodes: BecomeBetter.tv

I like Phil’s bio because he not only communicates his passion, helping people to better themselves, but adds links to his activities. He uses the links to encourage others to learn more about him while keeping his biography clean, neat and not too long.
