Strengthening the opportunity for SMEs and Cloud

It’s with great pleasure that Colt has announced the acquisition of the Cloud platform provider ThinkGrid. This venture will allow Colt to offer an entirely new level of cloud-based services through our indirect sales channels while also giving ThinkGrid’s partners and customers access to Colt’s large infrastructure of twenty data centres and high-speed network.

I truly believe that the real advantage through this acquisition will be for small and medium sized businesses. Recent studies have predicted that cloud adoption by SMEs will grow, but that some organisations find that the time and knowledge required to make that technology change is still too high and as such many continue to use legacy systems.

With their innovative portfolio of cloud services, not to mention their turn-key management platform and training programme, ThinkGrid has successfully helped many organisations to adopt cloud-based services, make savings and improve processes. That offering combined with Colt’s large assets and experience makes for a very powerful combination. For the first time Colt will be reaching end-users at their desktops, providing efficient, scalable and easy-to-use business solutions to a SME audience.

We’re going to be rolling out ThinkGrid’s training programme to our indirect sales channel immediately. Colt is determined to give our partners all the tools they need to start developing their cloud capabilities and demonstrate a wider portfolio of services. We’re making the information delivery platform real for the channel. This is an exciting move for Colt and one that continues to show the evolution of our business.
