The Microsoft Dynamics Community provides granular control over how you receive email notifications and the new "live" alerts.  Use this guide to understand what your options are and manage the amount of email you receive based on your participation in the community.

Use the "Email" tab of the Settings page to manage the following email settings.

Private Email Address -- This is the email address used for all notifications and is not shared publically.

Receive Emails -- Disable to opt-out of all emails.

Send Email Notifications -- Disable to opt-out of subscription email notifications.

Status Message & Comment Email Notifications -- Disable to opt-out of receiving emails when someone comments on your status message or a status you also commented on.

Private Message Notifications -- Disable to opt-out of emails when you receive private messages

Messages -- Specify who can send you private messages.

Email Digests -- Specify the frequency in which you want to receive email digests for the communities you're a member of.

Notification settings

Use the "Notifications" tab of the Settings page to manage the following notification settings.  For each item, you may enable a notification via the Notifications menu in the upper-right of the site as well as a "live alert" which displays an Outlook-like toast message that pops up in real-time in the lower-right of the site.

Activity From Your Network -- Opt-out of notifications of activities such as when someone follows you, requests/approves a friend request, and mentions.

Activity Related to Content You Write -- Opt-out of notifications of activities such as comments on content you write, replies to your questions, and suggested/verified answers to your questions.

Badges and Leaderboards -- Opt-out of notifications when you receive badges or make it into monthly leaderboards.

Keyword subscription settings

Use the "Keyword Subscriptions" tab of the Settings page to manage the keywords you subscript to for each community and the frequency in which you want to receive email notifications for them.
