I have Sharepoint Server 2013, Visual Studio 2012 and Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012 installed on my development computer.

When I try to create a SharePoint 2010 Visual Web Part project I get the error: "SharePoint is not installed"

After testing more the "Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012" installation fails to install some applications. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/apps/fp123627

I reinstalled the developer tools from the instructions here and the installation worked this time. blogs.msdn.com/b/chaks/archive/2012/08/17/10340229.aspx – user2043502 Feb 8 at 10:25
