I find myself reluctant to read code without syntax highlighting. On an almost daily basis, I end up downloading or copy-pasting large blocks of code from a browser window into vim just for the sake of seeing it in color.

Is there a more elegant solution? is there a plugin for firefox or chrome that allows me to apply syntax highlighting to any page?

This seems to work as advertised. Unfortunately, it seems to be incompatible with the addon Corad posted, I'll have to disable one to use the other. At any rate, it's a lot better than nothing! thanks! –  SingleNegationElimination Dec 24 '10 at 15:01

For Firefox, I would recommend Mozilla Lab's Ubiquity add-on, "an experimental interface based on natural language input".

Syntax highlighting is only one of the many useful commands that comes with the add-on, and as a programmer, I think the command line-like interface should be easy to learn and use.
