So , I am new to arduino , and am making a project including Arduino Uno and Ethernet Shield , yet am at point 0 since every time I plug my Ethernet Shield to the Uno it hangs , as in if it connects to the PC it doesn't upload code . if i upload the code and then connect the Shield it also doesn't work (not Even the serial monitor will open) and am pretty sure my local supplier doesn't get the original Shields ,

Iv searched and i got answers like too much capacitance on the reset line of the Shield? yet i don't know how to fix that , can anybody help me with that ?

Edit: This is My Ethernet Shield.

I have one of those. They certainly aren't genuine Arduino. The often don't work from power up and require a few resets to get them going. – Majenko Aug 30 at 9:38

Stupid question, but when you plug the shield in is the Arduino powered down? – Matt Aug 31 at 11:34
