Kyle Larson has been suspended indefinitely without pay by Chip Ganassi Racing and NASCAR after using a racist slur on Sunday night during a live stream of a virtual race. “We are extremely disappointed by what Kyle said last night during an iRacing Event,” Chip Ganassi Racing said in a statement on Monday. Larson issued an apology regarding his comment on Monday.

On April 2, Navy Captain Crozier of the USS Theodore Roosevelt was fired for writing a letter demanding action be taken to address a COVID-19 outbreak on his ship. He was cheered by his crew for his leadership but dismissed anyway. Less than two weeks later, one of his sailors is dead because of the virus.
