    This crazy phenomenon where every place thinks that they will be different than the prior places brought low by the virus is itself a dangerous aspect of this pandemic. I fear for our country epidemiologically, economically, and politically.

    So happy to see sharing Japan's wonderful public health messaging. This is the most useful messaging I've seen them share throughout this pandemic. Hope this is the start of a new and more pragmatic communication approach from ! :)

    Oh my. 5 mins on hands is enough to destroy protective lipid layer of a virus. (h/t ). I always thought all those folks saying "hand washing is enough to keep you safe from COVID-19" were dangerously irresponsible. Now... even more so.

    Transmission through surfaces seems unlikely (article below and CDC). Plus lip-enveloped viruses survive 5 min on hands (). And a/pre-symptomatic people don't cough, so no droplets. That leaves only... aerosols to explain many cases of transmission.

    Terrifying & dangerous failure to understand basic science from . Filling the middle seats is likely to kill passengers, if anyone still flies United now. You don't suddenly become unsafe inside 6ft. In fact, 4ft is around 10x lower risk than 1ft.

    Please don’t do this. Masks save lives. It’s like seat belts. But only temporary till we get through this. As a leader you should be out there telling people how they can protect themselves. You are also endangering the lives of frontline healthcare workers.

    There is no authority in the Constitution that authorizes the government to stick a needle in you against your will, force you to wear a face mask, or track your daily movements. 🇺🇸 Can you imagine the signers of the Declaration of Independence submitting to any of these things?!

    The first paragraph of the constitution explains that its purpose is, amongst other things, to "promote the general welfare". (The 10th amendment clarifies that it is the states that have authority.) Research estimates that mask mandates add a trillion dollars to the US economy

    Social psychologists could teach an entire class on anchoring bias and group think in the WHO and much of the medical community in its treatment of this emerging disease.

    Is the coronavirus airborne? YES, according to 239 experts from 32 countries. But if so, why does still maintain that transmission by aerosols only happens after certain medical procedures? 1/x
