    We've just completed a 19-author analysis of the effectiveness of mask wearing, with 84 references. To explain what the science shows, I teamed up with the wonderful Prof CBE, who just led a British Medical Journal study on this. (thread)

    Furthermore cloth masks and other items can easily be decontaminated. A 60C wash and/or a few minutes in a tumble dryer at 80C should be enough

    This excellent figure from also shows the magnitude of the problem we are facing. When travel restrictions and social distancing is relaxed, COVID will likely move around the country. From what I’ve seen this virus is a danger to any place it goes to.

    Here is how to do phone-based COVID-19 contact tracing in a way that respects people's privacy and can't be hijacked for wider surveillance. I would be happy to install this on my phone. Anything with a central database - non way!

    I am a senior at risk for COVID-19. If you think I'm going to start going out shopping, flying on planes, or staying in hotels without comprehensive testing, you're nuts. You'll have to restart the economy without me. I'd like to be able to watch my granddaughter grow up.

    In Taiwan, some sort of "zero-virus" economy is kicking in as the country didn't report new coronavirus cases in the past 3 days: Companies are giving out freebies, from bubble tea to one-month trial of streaming music & even a free hotel stay, to celebrate a "zero-virus" day.
