Back in the day I used to have a box full of different cables for different purposes. There were rs232 & parallel & firewire & SCSI cables & more. Things are much better today: I still have a box full of different cables for different purposes, but now they're all labeled USB.

This is my frequent reminder to stay calm and polite, no matter how pissed (pardon my French) I am. I never really know what goes on in other people's life 😔 And life is hard sometimes, for some most of the time.

I was making this Greek dish for Mother's Day. I needed to use about 1/2 of that cheese that comes floating in a cheese bathtub. So I cut it in half, but when I tried to fish the half out it broke in half. And when I tried again it broke in half again. There it was: Zeno's Feta.

I really need to talk to the person who decided that the fret markers on guitars would be at frets 3, 5, 7, *9* and 12 while those on ukuleles are on 5, 7, *10* and 12. I don't miss the one on the 3rd fret but that 9/10 thing is driving me nuts.

Conclusion: A Philadelphia pretzel that has been sitting in my freezer for two years still tastes better than anything you can buy in the mall in Virginia. If the mall was even open.

It is a sign of the situation we find ourselves in that this is both incredibly tragic and encouraging all at the same time.

Churchill is supposed to have said that "You can always trust the Americans to do the right thing after they have exhausted all other alternatives." Churchill probably didn't really say that, but there is truth in it. Here's hoping we are getting to the end of the alternatives.
