Bash script to format a block device (hard drive or Flash drive) in UDF. The output is a drive that can be used for reading/writing across multiple operating system families: Windows, macOS, and Linux. This script should be capable of running in macOS or in Linux.

Bulk I/O Dispatch, i.e. BID Schemes. We have designed and developed two contention avoidance storage solutions, collectively known as BID: Bulk I/O Dispatch, for big data environment. BID-HDD is a disk scheduling scheme. BID-Hybrid is another contention avoidance scheme using hybrid tiers of storage for improving HDD performance using SSDs. In this project we have designed system simulators to emulate the behavior of the block layer of the system as well as the storage devices, taking the input as traces from blktrace.
