    Be warned, Actions say "Billable time 4secs" but they charge by the *minute*. Thats 15x the cost for this simple job. So basically, GitHub Actions is uneconomic for small tasks. (And no response on their forum )

    Unfashionable Java opinion of the day... use two spaces for indentation instead of 4. I think it looks great and makes code more readable. Used it at my day job for 10 years, though not my OSS projects.

    Under the cover of the pandemic, Dominic Cummings is passing vast UK population data sets to a private AI company. Nine contracts awarded so far, most without even being tendered.

    Is Cummings really exploiting the pandemic to feed massive population-level datasets into his pals’ data science boiler-room at Faculty, producing a UK equivalent of the coercive Chinese social credit system which he praised in his blog last year? is the key... (1/?)

    I've been ever since Java 1.0. Before Java I used COBOL and AM (a 4GL that no one has ever heard of) and compared to those it was an incredible breath of fresh air!

    Its not that big tech algorithms are bad for the sanity of the world, its that most people have no clue how much their lives are influenced by them.

    So long as your blood can transport Oxygen, you can feel fine but once too many red blood cells damaged you can decline quickly because O2 can't be transported. Amazing to see doctors working out how to treat this. But remember healthy scepticism!
