    Everyone: these spam PRs are such low quality they must be from bots Narrator: 🤦‍♂️

    Our computer club’s website is getting pull request spam; that’s a first. Looks like they’re trying to find repos with little oversight (or automated PR merging?) into which to inject malware, I guess?

    Contributions are welcome 12 months of the year. Do read the guidelines, do say hi and ask where you can help. We'll do what we can to match you to something you'll find interesting or approachable. For a free t-shirt create your own repo and update the readme 5 times using PRs

    I spoke to last week and I know they were seeking out candid feedback from maintainers. Hope they find something actionable from the blog. As 's new book on working in the open says: we have to be careful not to exhaust maintainers, who are a depletable resource

    "DigitalOcean's Hacktoberfest is Hurting Open Source" (I would say that this article resonates with our experiences in the OpenFaaS community) The DO team mean well, but I am looking forward to seeing some new initiatives from the team next year.

    From a perspective POV I think could say a lot about developing a web server and OSS (among other subjects), and deserves all the props for and could say a lot about what it takes to run “serverless”. I’m nominating both :)

    This is a personal account of some of the challenges we faced (still face) at . There were tears, for sure, feelings of shame and disappointments. It's not over yet but at least "round 1" is.

    Finally have an opportunity to use in production! The droplet in the Marketplace was almost too easy to deploy hahaha. Love it! Going to be a while before anything is live, but I'm excited to get started!
