    Every black man you know has had an uncomfortable encounter with police. When I was 18, I was visiting family in Atlanta and went to pick up pizza with my cousin. We walk out with pizza in our hands and these cops pulled up on us and forced us to be frisked.

    Helmets were lame, so we switch to skateboarding everywhere, which was a dumb idea because skateboarding is a crime.

    My mom got me an my brother's Florida IDs for times like this. Despite being 5'9 and barely 12 I was able to prove I was a minor. We received a warning and the next day my friend's mom bought us reflectors for our bikes.

    When I was 12 me and my pacific islander friend (not-white) and I was riding our bike through a Target parking lot to get to the Wendy's. We got stopped by a cop asking why were riding at night without helmets or reflectors.
