What is Ember Octane?

As of 3.15, Ember finalized shipping a set of features which are collectively known as Ember Octane. From the Ember docs:

Ember Octane describes a set of new features that, when taken together, represent a foundational improvement to the way you use Ember. It has modern, streamlined components and state management that make it fun to build web applications.

Features which ship as part of Octane are:

• Glimmer components
• Element modifiers
• Tracked properties
• Co-located templates
• Native classes

Prerequisites

You will need the following things properly installed on your computer.

• Git
• Node.js (with npm)
• Yarn
• Ember CLI
• Google Chrome

Installation

• git clone <repository-url> this repository
• cd ember-octane-realworld
• yarn

Running / Development

• ember serve
• Visit your app at http://localhost:4200.
• Visit your tests at http://localhost:4200/tests.

Make use of the many generators for code, try ember help generate for more details

Running Tests

• yarn test
• yarn test --server

Linting

• yarn lint:hbs
• yarn lint:js
• yarn lint:js -- --fix

Building

• ember build (development)
• ember build --environment production (production)

Deploying

This app is automatically deployed to Netlify.
