Feature: Print out what git/svn status returns, if uploading of a package fails because of uncommited changes.
It happend on our CI (Jenkins) few times now that upload failed because of uncommited changes.
We clear the whole repository folder after a build process to save storage. So we couldn't check it by ourself after the failed build.

I was looking into patch and how it works, but the docs didnt give much info. The CLI also didnt. I had to look around to get an idea of it. I thought it worked similar like patch-package. However, it works differently.

How about calculating the checksum as part of the rake build task?
I currently add the following rake build:checksum task to all my gems, but in order to promote checksums, it might be better to implement this on Bundler:
