Using DEBUG to add verbosity during debug sessions

It would be nice to use debug and the powerful features associated with it in order to be able to quickly toggle the verbosity for which we want our logs. It would be great if we had our different services logging out certain events that happen that are critical in addition to our standard morgan logging for API requests.
