    When writing documentation I try to always make the examples be cultural references or in-jokes rather than random content. There's obscure LGBTQ+ references in the HTML spec, Hamilton quotes in the Flutter docs, pictures of my cats, references to events or people in my life...

    Whats something silly you've done in your career that still makes you laugh?

    I'm confident that similar issues exist with mobile device CPU and GPU cores, given the bug reports we see of crashes that only reproduce in a minute fraction of production devices with stack traces that make no sense. It's hard to prove though since we never see that hardware...

    This is bonkers: At a large enough scale, you will have CPUs that develop silent corrupt execution errors. Manufacturing and burn-in tests miss these:

    This 👇. When building something, the up front cost is obvious, but in reality it's dwarfed by the maintenance cost over the lifetime of the product. That's the main cost I try to keep in mind when doing long term planning.

    When you try to fight transphobia and it turns out you're also dealing with misogyny and some weird reverse ableism. Sure hope there aren't any stronger girls playing these "girl sports", I guess that wouldn't be fair either...

    My friend Jon Joy wrote a respectful letter to WV Senator asking him to vote against a bill that would prohibit trans kids from playing sports. This was his reply:
