    IPI condemns the threat by Turkey's broadcast regulator to punish TV stations for covering wildfires. This is an effort to censor reporting on an issue of immense public interest.

    Turkey’s media watchdog RTUK released a threatening message to tv stations covering the wildfires, saying continuous live coverage from the scenes demoralises the mood of the people & firefighters and stated there would be utmost punishment to tv channels not abiding by its rules
