    today we passed 1,000 commits in curl this year The 5-year average is 1241 commits/year which seems we are en route to surpass. We did 1480 commits last year. Totally we're at 27596.

    I picked these ones because they are widely used end-user operating systems - it shows the curl situation for "ordinary humans" . Other OSes are way better. And even on win/mac/ubuntu there are ways to get the latest one installed if you work on it.
