Save playername in the waiting room

Ascii mode gives all the necessary info in its status line, but it can be a bit overwhelming. Maybe it is nicer to sprinkle in a little colour (not too much).

We've had many comments on this in the past.
Children find them difficult to see so can't count how many commands they will need.

What is the problem that you wish to solve? Please describe.
During testing, we discovered that it is frustrating to not have the PDF with instructions open alongside the games.
