Chief Executive Officer

Thomas Dohmke is CEO of GitHub and drives the company’s mission of making GitHub the home for all developers. Fascinated by software development since his childhood, Thomas is passionate about building tools developers love and creating products that drive software development forward. He previously co-founded HockeyApp and led the company as CEO through its acquisition by Microsoft in 2014. Thomas holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from University of Glasgow, UK. He lives in the Seattle area, is a LEGO enthusiast, and enjoys coding and making his GitHub contribution graph green in his spare time.

Erica is the Chief Revenue Officer at GitHub. Erica joined GitHub in 2013 to develop the operational foundation for scaling the Sales and Customer Success Team. Prior to GitHub, Erica spent over four years at ServiceSource International in Business Excellence and Operations, where she focused on sales strategy and operations for enterprise customers. She also worked in financial planning and analysis in the healthcare sector.

When Erica isn’t talking to companies about GitHub, she’s watching football or trying new restaurants in New York with her family.

Chief Human Resources Officer

Dawn Beatty is Chief Human Resources Officer at GitHub, where she is dedicated to fostering a culture fueled by people who are passionate about building a global community of developers and doing the best work of their lives.

Prior to joining GitHub, Dawn was with Microsoft for 15 years, where she was the General Manager of Global Talent Acquisition for sales, marketing, and stores, and also held various HR leadership roles across Microsoft’s Office Engineering Division. Dawn has also served in key HR positions at start-up and Fortune 500 companies.

Dawn is a native of Detroit, MI. Outside of work Dawn supports charities focused on the education and empowerment of minority women. She also enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and live music.

Kyle Daigle

VP of Strategy & Interim Head of Product

Kyle is VP of Strategy and Interim Head of Product at GitHub. Kyle joined GitHub in 2013 and built and scaled the Ecosystem Engineering teams and worked on the acquisitions of Semmle, npm, and others. He now oversees strategic projects, program management, and communications while supporting the GitHub Executive Team to be more productive and successful.

Prior to GitHub, Kyle worked as an engineering and product leader in FinTech, and ran an engineering consulting business. When he isn’t working with Hubbers and customers, he’s enjoying a quiet weekend in Connecticut with his wife and two sons.

Mike Hanley is the Chief Security Officer and SVP of Engineering at GitHub. Prior to GitHub, Mike was the Vice President of Security at Duo Security, where he built and led the security research, development, and operations functions. After Duo’s acquisition by Cisco for $2.35 billion in 2018, Mike led the transformation of Cisco’s cloud security framework and later served as CISO for the company. Mike also spent several years at CERT/CC as a Senior Member of the Technical Staff and security researcher focused on applied R&D programs for the US Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community.

When he’s not talking about security at GitHub, Mike can be found enjoying Ann Arbor, MI with his wife and seven kids.

Chief Financial Officer

Chris Hidalgo is the Chief Financial Officer at GitHub. He joined GitHub in 2019 as part of the Strategic Finance organization. Chris leads the finance team and provides financial leadership and business partnership across GitHub.

Prior to joining GitHub, Chris worked at Microsoft for 11 years. While at Microsoft he worked in a variety of businesses including Microsoft Azure and Enterprise Services. Before joining Microsoft, Chris held a variety of finance roles in the consumer packaged goods industry.

Outside of work Chris enjoys participating in running and triathlon races, spending time with family and friends, and learning about History.

Shelley is the Chief Legal Officer at GitHub, where she leads teams responsible for Trust and Safety, Social Impact, Developer Policy, Product & Regulatory Legal, Commercial Legal, and Legal Operations. Shelley started her career at Microsoft supporting parts of the Developer Division in 2005. Prior to joining GitHub, she was the head of Microsoft’s Technology and Corporate Responsibility organization, where she oversaw a team that drove the use of technology to benefit society through priorities such as Accessibility, Environmental Sustainability, Broadband Access, Responsible AI, and Justice Reform. She has also led legal, corporate, and external affairs teams across Europe and worked on products in Microsoft’s gaming division, including developer communities and Xbox Live. Prior to joining Microsoft, she was legal counsel at Wizards of the Coast, where she supported the “Dungeons & Dragons” and “Magic: The Gathering” brands.

Shelley is an outspoken proponent of mental health awareness and uses her voice to help address the affiliated bias and stigma, by advocating for a culture of openness and inclusion. Outside of work, you can find her enjoying outdoor concerts, tearing up the slopes on her snowboard and relaxing with her family and friends.

Head of Design

Diana is GitHub’s Head of Design, leading the teams who shape GitHub’s design language and core user experience. Diana joined GitHub in 2015 and developed Primer from a CSS framework to a mature design system of components, documentation, and tooling.

Prior to joining GitHub, Diana spent several years at Etsy, where she helped redesign their seller tools, taught new designers how to push code (on GitHub!), and was part of a small team that built a new design system. Diana started her career in print design in the UK, then moved to Australia where she worked in the public sector and small strategic design agency, before moving to the U.S. to experience the startup scene in Silicon Valley. She now lives with her husband and two cats in Brooklyn, NY, where she works remotely for GitHub.

Stormy Peters

VP of Communities

Stormy Peters is VP of Communities at GitHub. She leads the teams responsible for enabling the online creators and open source communities on GitHub, including GitHub’s community product efforts, developer relations, education, and other strategic programs. Throughout her career, Stormy has been passionate about open source software and has worked to educate companies and communities on how open source software is changing the software industry.

Prior to GitHub, Stormy was the Director of the Open Source Programs Office at Microsoft, enabling 30,000+ developers to consume and contribute to open source effectively. She has helped initiate programs such as Microsoft’s FOSS Fund and the Azure Credits for Open Source projects. She’s also held leadership positions working with the open source community at Mozilla, Red Hat, GNOME Foundation, OpenLogic and others.

Stormy graduated from Rice University with a B.A. in Computer Science. She lives in Northern Colorado with her family. In her free time, she likes to run with her dog, explore microbreweries with friends, challenge herself with high intensity interval workouts, and read lots of sci-fi.
