Join us for an exclusive Open Source Event focusing on NASA's 2023 International Space Apps Challenge. We're thrilled to host Marie Mimiaga Director from NASA's Space Apps Challenge as our special guest. Marie is the Director of Technology Programs at SecondMuse. She joined the NASA Space Apps Global Organizing Team in 2019 and since then has become the Ecosystem Development Deputy for the NASA Space Apps Enterprise. With a mixed-method approach that draws on sociological, anthropological and design research techniques, she advises and provides strategic guidance on program design, community management, collaboration, and communications to help meet the needs of the Space Apps Community. In her role, Marie is also responsible for oversight of the new NASA Space Apps Collective pilot program. With a passion for social impact and talent for project management, she has spent the last 14 years working across sectors including non-profit, corporate, higher education, and government. In this informative session, you'll gain a well-rounded understanding of this year's Space Apps Challenge, a collaborative effort involving 13 global Space Agency Partners. The challenge invites participants from diverse fields to leverage open-source data in crafting solutions to real-world issues. By the end of the session, participants will: - Understand the Scope: Gain a clear overview of the NASA Space Apps Challenge, its goals, and its global reach. - Grasp the Theme: Acquire insights into the 2023 theme, "Explore Open Science Together," and how it encourages equitable knowledge sharing. - Know the Partners: Learn about the international agencies collaborating with NASA, and the kind of data and expertise they bring to the table. - Be Informed of Key Milestones: Familiarize themselves with important dates and phases of the challenge, from registration to project submission and judging.
