if it was taken by github means it was an internal action by them due to DMCA so I suggest to make a ticket and contact github with the repo name andthe other credentials, if it was deleted by you then its not possible nor logs will help but if it was hidden by github simply makea ticket. |

f a GitHub repository seems to be missing, start by making sure you are logged into the correct GitHub account, especially if you use more than one account for personal and work projects. Next, check whether the repository belongs to an organization rather than your personal profile by visiting the Organizations section and browsing its repositories. On your profile’s Repositories tab, clear all filters such as visibility, type, or language, and sort by recently updated to ensure nothing is hidden. You should also use GitHub’s global search to look for the repository by its exact name, keywords from the README, or files you remember from the project. Checking your starred repositories and any forks under your profile can also help, as the repository may exist there instead. Review your email and GitHub notifications to see if the repository was transferred to another user or organization, or if your access was removed. If you still have the project on your local machine, inspect the git remote URL to identify where the repository was hosted originally. This can confirm whether it was deleted, made private, or moved. Finally, if the repository belonged to an organization, contact an administrator to verify your access, since private repositories will not appear if permissions have been revoked. |

Hey there! 👋 Thanks for posting in the GitHub Community, @niyasnesm ! We're happy you're here. You are more likely to get a useful response if you are posting in the applicable category. The Accessibility category is a place for our community to discuss and provide feedback on the digital accessibility of GitHub products. Digital accessibility means that GitHub tools, and technologies, are designed and developed so that people with disabilities can use them. I've gone ahead and moved this to the correct category for you, |

Hello GitHub Community,
One of my repositories seems to have been deleted, and I’m unable to find any information about how or why it happened
GitHub audit/security logs → No relevant activity found
Email notifications → No deletion or warning emails received
I’m confident that I did not delete this repository manually.
Could anyone please guide me on:
Possible reasons a repository might disappear
Whether GitHub keeps internal logs for such cases
How I can investigate or recover this repository
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
