Picture it: You open an issue before lunch. By the time you get back, there’s a pull request waiting for your review. ☕️ That’s what GitHub Copilot coding agent is built for. While you stay in your flow state in the editor, the agent works in the background to fix bugs, add tests, and clean up tech debt. We just rolled out several major updates to make delegating background work to Copilot even more seamless: 🧠 Choose the right model: You can now select your model directly in the Agents panel. Pick a faster model for routine work like unit tests, or upgrade to a more robust model for a complex refactor. 🔍 Self-reviewing code: The agent now reviews its own work and iterates on feedback before it opens a PR. You get cleaner logic, and no more cleaning up clunky AI code yourself. 🛡️ Built-in security scanning: Vulnerable patterns, known CVEs, and exposed secrets are caught and flagged directly within the agent's workflow, keeping your codebase secure from the start. 🤖 Custom team agents: You can now codify your team's unique processes. Create a custom agent in your repository to ensure specific workflows (like performance benchmarking) are followed every single time. 💻 Seamless Cloud ↔️ CLI transitions: Start a task in the cloud and pull it into your local terminal with the branch, logs, and context intact. Or push local work to the background so you can keep moving. Copilot coding agent is shifting how we think about developer productivity, moving from just writing code faster to actively delegating work. So you forgot how you fixed that bug the other day. 😬 No worries. GitHub Copilot CLI remembers. With its local SQLite database of your session history (and a full-text search index), you can instantly pull up context from your previous work. ✅ Install Copilot CLI and save brain space. ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/g5nr8MEm

Developer talent is global. Access to AI tools should be, too. 🌍 💻 Stephen, a React developer working in Rwanda, shares how he uses GitHub Copilot to navigate complex code, and why AI is a tool for empowerment (and not replacement). Learn more about the partnership between GitHub and Andela to bring structured AI training to more than 3,000 developers across the globe. 💡 https://lnkd.in/gs693MiF

That gap between design and production? Closed. 🔁 We've brought GitHub Copilot, Visual Studio Code, and Figma together to create a continuous loop between design and development. With the new, bidirectional Figma MCP server, Copilot users can: 🔹 Pull design context directly into their code. 🔹 Push working UI back to the Figma canvas. 🔹 Keep components and production perfectly aligned, all without leaving VS Code. Code flows back to design. Design context flows into code. No more disconnected workflows or UI drift. What will your team build? Get started to find out. 👇 https://lnkd.in/e25nBRz5
