⚖️ Landmark ruling by the Supreme Court in the Cox case: Internet service providers are not liable if they continue to provide internet access to customers knowing that some of them are infringing copyright. 🛜 This is an important decision for internet freedoms: If the previous ruling had been upheld, internet providers would have been incentivized to block access first and ask questions later, in an effort to avoid copyright liability. GitHub had filed an amicus brief along with other companies arguing for a balanced approach to copyright enforcement.
