Available at your own site or at a Colt site through a service level agreement under an opex model, Colt ftec offers you a flexible data centre model to meet your business needs.

Powerflex offers a range of power related options that enables you to have the data centre you need today and long into the future. You can now forecast your capacity requirements in the short to medium term and dial up or down the power as you need it. Gone are the days when you needed to over provision and plan for every eventuality. Now your data centre can adapt to your business needs.

A key issue in many data centres is while they are designed to be extremely efficient, most never achieve optimum efficiency. Target power efficiency is usually only achieved at high utilisation, however many data centres run for years below 50%. Colt coolflex allows you to optimise efficiency at any load, saving millions in energy costs over the lifetime of the data centre. Colt coolflex also supports Colt powerflex by adapting cooling in line with power usage.

• Upgrades can be carried out dynamically while the data centre is in production and from outside the IT area, eliminating disruption to IT services
• Cooling can be controlled dynamically to maximise efficiency even at partial loads
• Colt cooling units operate in free cooling mode, switching to a high efficiency DX mode only when required to reduce power bills
• The ability to configure cooling units to operate in fresh air, indirect, chilled water or DX mode as required
• Little or no water required in standard options 

• Allows you to optimise the physical space available in a data hall, allowing a complete, ready to operate data centre in a significantly reduced timeframe as part of our 16 week delivery programme.
