Community experts are members of either the Microsoft Community Contributor (MCC) program or the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) program.  These members are very active in the community: answering forum questions, writing detailed blog articles, and tweeting useful information.

These members are featured prominently via a Experts widget on the product community home pages -- following them allows you to easily see all their activity.  They are also awarded specific MCC and MVP badges, allowing you to easily identify them throughout the site.

Microsoft Community Contributors (MCCs)

The Microsoft Community Contributor program rewards top contributors in the Microsoft Dynamics Community forums.  Every six months (Jan-June and July-Dec) the MCC badge is awarded to the top 5 members with the most verified answers within each product forum.  These members have spent significant time providing helpful answers to other members' questions and can be identified with the following badge on their forum posts.

In addition, members will also be recognized by the Microsoft Community Contributor program, along with other members who participate in the Microsoft Community and Microsoft Office 365 Community forums.

How to find how close you are to earning the MCC badge

Visit any of the following MCC badges and you'll see a status widget that displays where you are at vs. the current top 5 members with the most verified answers in that community's forums.  If you're a member of multiple communities, you'll have a dropdown to view each community status separately.

Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs)

MVPs are passionate about Microsoft technology and recognized for their exceptional technical expertise, their willingness to help others make the most of their technology, and for making a significant and positive impact on technical communities.
