another thing I want is, like, adaptive windowing for stuff like rates/quantiles, where the system picks up on (potentially fuzzy) phase changes in dynamics and establishes new windows to avoid blurring/oversampling/undersampling different time regions

honestly this feels like a solvable problem: series tags and x/y coordinates could be stored as fixed-width records, feels like you could sample/index/stream that stuff off disk for interactive zooming w incremental rendering real fast

Anyway, v excited, once I save up the money, to install rooftop solar and start looking at putting in charging infrastructure for an electric car while I'm at it. I think that's gonna require negotiating with the city though.

(I'm not mad about having electric heat; both my electricity and gas are "carbon neutral", but that really means offset by renewable investments, and I have more confidence in wind & solar than the biogas capture scheme. Trying to get away from gas as much as possible.)
